Bruce W. Buchanan
Bruce was trained as a photojournalist in the 1970s. He worked at three U.S. daily newspapers and then spent ten years as a commercial photographer in Milwaukee. Today he is the owner of Buchanan Group / Flanner Buchanan in Indianapolis.
“I have photographed everything from the Dali Lama to a Dixie Cup, for hire. Now that I no longer make my living from photography I am free to photograph scenes and objects that are personally meaningful to me.”
Working with a compact camera that is always by his side, Bruce records the beauty he sees in his daily life.
“I enjoy being physically active. My goal is to walk five miles a day. During my daily adventures I am always seeing pictures, no matter where I am.”
Bruce has traveled throughout the world, including Asia, Central and South America, Europe, and most of North America. He has lived in New Orleans, Milwaukee and is now back home in Indianapolis.
“Many photographers search outside of their own experiences to find photographs. My pictures are simply a reflection of my daily living.”
